Posted: Thu Jun 01, 2006 6:46 am In her latest journal entry Stacy says "... it's all i've been allowing myself to listen to. Stamped again and again with the truest approval ..." so I listened to the Roscoe cut on Midlake's MySpace site and found it quite tasty. Ran down a couple live promotional links from a blog - Van Occupanther and We Gathered In Spring and liked those as well. Dreamy and sweet. Its easy to see why Stacy is so enamored with the new album. Looking forward to hearing more from the new album. |

cheers a bunch for reminding me that I have to wait till monday. It seems even further away now. hmmm. On the upside. uh. uh... what's 3 days when you've waited... however long it's been? I'm mighty glad, if it's got Stacy's approval, that I haven't bought any of the other albums that come out this month (this week, in fact) _________________ She is handsome, she is pretty, she is the girl from Belfast City, she is courtin' one two three, please won't you tell me who is she? yeah, this album is fantastic. Since I got a hold of the thing a day has not gone by inwhich a track has not been played. Fantastic, love it to death, completely totally wickedly different than the last two records, but mang its good. I love watching bands evolve. |

I've been chewing on this album for quite a while now, and even though I don't like it as much as I enjoyed their first full length, it has been growing on me. I do particularly like bandits, young bride, chasing after deer, and we gathered in spring. They are talented boys, for sure. |

I should stop reading this thread after only two or so more posts. The wait for Monday is killing me. I'm telling you: I'm gunna vbe half sprinting to town after the founder's day celebrations. argh! if I had the day off I'd be there when the shop opens. Not really. But at least my mate's party is in the evening and not right after school. So I can go home and listen to it! yay. But really. Stop making the wait longer for me. (btw, it comes out on Monday over here. I've still not got Young Bride single. I think I might whilst I'm there). _________________ She is handsome, she is pretty, she is the girl from Belfast City, she is courtin' one two three, please won't you tell me who is she? "I'm Van Occupanther" You should expect that one day Eisley and Midlake will tour... For old schoolers, you'll know that will be one heck of a 'MossLake' tour. Brush up on your Midlake. The new record smacks of refined Neil Young meets Grandaddy, the Lips, but mostly... Midlake. They're all my favorite records. Eric tells me he's coming over when they get back from UK. He comes for my coffee. In a word: "MossLake". bd _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead.
