you did it! and the majority wins. it's very obvious that Kim should start her own journal.

i don't know if this has already been said but, doesn't kim post with the intent to start a discussion? i think if that's the case, she should stick with posting the topics on the forum.

Kim is a regular contributor in Laughing City. And she as much as said she doesn't want a journal when she voted no, and said she isn't even considering a blog here. I voted yes, but if she doesn't want to do it then that should be the end of it. The Duprees do more than any other band I know of already. And she already could post in Trolleywod if she is so inclined. Here is an example of her posting in Trolleywood (see bottom of page):

No offence, Kim. I'm sure you're a great lady. But I voted no.

Here's my reason:

I think that people try to pry into the band/family's life enough as it is, and they should have some sort of wall between themselves and the rest of the world. Sure, celebrity brings its spotlight, but Eisley are people too, and I'm sure that there are some things they just want to have for themselves. For example, pictures of Weston riding his bike, or Chauntelle cleaning her room.

We get beyond enough info on the band as it is with the existing journals, website junk, myspace bulletins, email newsletters, and even meet-n-greets. If you want more, you're just greedy.

i love when people make baseless statements as though they're fact. i think that wanting to know more about your favorite band is a natural feeling; it doesn't mean you're "greedy". they're people you're interested in and admire -- you have quite good reason to want more information.

in my opinion, it's like saying you're greedy when you want to know where the band you like is from. you don't necessarily need to know it, but it's natural to be curious. just because we have a lot already doesn't subtract from that feeling.

i'm almost certain a journal from kim wouldn't narrate the home lives of her children. i believe the idea was more to give insight from another contributing member of their family -- kim does have a lot to say, as we've seen from her posts here, and many people find her very interesting. i'd think a journal from her would be a reflection of her posts here -- just in a more private area that was just hers.

again, a journal wouldn't be necessary, but i'm quite sure everyone who voted "yes" already knew that.

Knowing where a band is from is hardly comparable to the amount of stuff that Eisley throws out there for the fans. With the journals and everything else that already exist, we know a lot of what goes on in Eisleyland, as well as what kind of people they are, simply by reading what they have to say, and how they say it.

They're a band, not your best friends. Admiring is quite different from obsessing.

I think you're missing the point. No one's forcing kim to have a journal and tell us all the secrets of the dupree household. if she wants one, we're offering the idea. if she doesn't, then there you go.

and yeah, i definitely obsess over my best friends.

No, I think it's you who doesn't get the point.

This thread was about whether or not we think she should get one. In fact, there's even a poll. I'm simply stating my opinion. It's not like I'm trying to start a revolution against Kim or anything.

Jesus, you people take yourselves too seriously. Remember, you're not the only people in the world with opinions, and usually, people will actually disagree with you.

ok...so....anywayzzzz Confused

I appreciate, and I am flattered by all of you that would like for me to have my own journal.
As I have stated, it's just not something I really want to do.
I also understand the people that are saying that they don't think it would be a good idea, and I am not offended, intimidated, or insulted by those opinions.

Having said that, thanks for the poll, and the support. Smile

I'm off to get the BrewTones show going.....
have a great evening.

Some of you are getting a little hot here. No one said "OMG KIM HAS TO HAVE A JOURNAL YAH WE WANNA KNOW ALL ABOUT DUPREEEEEZZZ." It was just a mindless poll, "Do you think Kim should have a journal like Boyd does?" So chill, people, please.

Do you think Kim should have a journal? That's the point of this thing, right? Well, I answered, and I even said why.

Apparently everyone's allowed to have an opinion but me.

I'm tired of being persecuted here.

See y'all later. Have a nice life.

Have you not expressed your opinion? You don't have to like theirs, they don't have to like yours.
