I never got what was so terrible about braces (other than having to wear them). I mean, we all know why people have them, we all know tons of people get them. It's not like we're waking around with stints on our eyelids or something. I've never had braces, and I've never been freaked out by anyone with them. It's a little metal band on our teeth. Big deal.

They hurt. Lots. After the dentist would tighten mine, I felt like he had tried to hurt me on purpose and they would make my mouth ache for days. I had to put wax on the sharp metal constantly. I'm so glad I don't have them anymore!

actually what jamie is saying is that what you're talking about sucks, but we all seem to judge people with braces as "unattractive" or something potentially less mean spirited and he doesn't understand why anyone makes a big deal about OTHER people wearing braces because EVERYONE prettty much has to wear them at some point in time.

who's tried that invisalign thing? I imagine it hurts. Kinda like when you haven't worn your retainer in like a week and then you wear it again for the first time.

I like my braces because they make my mouth colorful and my rubber bands give me a lisp.
But, I am excited to see how my smile looks afterwards, because when I was in like the fifth grade I would smile all the time because I like how I was missing my two front teeth to the side of my front teeth [if that makes sense].
But I don't like the whole four thousand dollars thing Confused

edit: point of even weirder observations... I'm using the new internet explorer, with tabs. with only the page of the thread open, the tab says "... has stacy ever worn a bra..."

Shut up. Some of us get the draw that reads, "Your teeth suck. We'll just pull that one down with a chain and you'll have so much metal in your mouth that gangstas will envy you."

haha. this reminds me of when my cousin got braces. from far away he looks like he's wearing a "grill" hahaha! sooo funny. Very Happy

yeah the weirdest part of getting them off is how unbelievably big your teeth feel when you get them off, it's a once in a lifetime experience...

I had braces once... I didn't really need them, except that I had a tooth that wasn't coming out so I needed some more room for it.

But on the up-side... now my teeth look fake!

hah yeah when i got mine off it felt like my lips were going to slide off my face. my friend's mom had braces but she had bands (like what they put on your last back molar) all the way around, i felt sorry for her.
