I haven't seen one of these for a while. So, who was homeschooled, who was public schooled, and who was private schooled? Or a combination of them? I personally had a bit of a mix. I was in public school until second grade, and then was homeschooled until 5th grade. When my family moved to Illinois, I was put back into school, but they had me redo the 5th grade to stay along with my peers(I did it a year early). Was in public school until 7th grade, then was homeschooled after that. _________________ Thistledown |

Homeschooled all the way, out in San Diego. I went/go to college at Biola University in La Mirada (15 minutes north of Disneyland... or 45, depending on traffic). A question for those who have been homeschooled: Does the government have some sort of standardized testing that you have to pass in order to have your schooling recognized? I've just been wondering for a while, because when I was in highschool we had to pass a manditory literacy test and a Gr.10 mathematics thing in order to graduate. I thought perhaps the government would want to keep tabs on individuals being homeschooled to make sure parents weren't slacking or to make sure kids were prepared for secondary education if they wanted to pursue it. How much outside (ie. non-family) involvement is there in the homeschooling process? _________________ |

How much outside (ie. non-family) involvement is there in the homeschooling process? I know that in Illinois, there isn't really anything regulating it. Anyone can homeschool as long as the core classes(maths, sciences, lits...) are being taught. As far as tests, I'm not exactly sure. I know that I took the ACT as sort of a way to officiate my education though. _________________ Thistledown |
