nice easy geographical topic that everyone can understand (unlike, say, depressions, or oceanic patterns or whatever). Which do you use: Faranheit or Degrees centigrade? It always confuses me when people are like "oh yeah it was easily 70 degrees over here today". my brain's thought patterns at this moment are more or less "70 degrees... you couldn't survive at... oh... she's talkin' farenheit!" The problem comes 'cause we aint comparing oranges and oranges. The other thing that is wierd is ounces. Yes, people do still use ounces... "can i have x amount of ounces of bulls-eyes please" is a slightly common question asked in the shop I work at. Centremetres. I actually use an inch to work out rough distances. I can do one inch. CMs is harder. But back to the one that's really annoying sometimes: Farenheit or Degrees Centigrade. Which do you use? _________________ She is handsome, she is pretty, she is the girl from Belfast City, she is courtin' one two three, please won't you tell me who is she? I used Fahrenheit because it's what I'm used to and because it's all that they use on the weather forecasts. _________________ Thistledown |

I can vaguely recognize centigrade. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

....both? I'm American so am used to farenheit but I live in Dubai where most people use centigrade. When at the mall or something and the bunch of girls I'm with says "Oh my gosh, like how hot is that guy!?" I love to answer "Hmm, about 95 degrees farenheit?" _________________ To Write Love On Her Arms the world is poor because her fortune is buried in the sky and all her treasure maps are of the earth. |

I understood Centigrade much better when I was taking science every year, but I still couldn't relate it to weather. As some of you know, I've been in Europe now for awhile and despite this I STILL can't translate Centigrade to Fahrenheit. All I know is that 0 is freezing, I definitely need a coat when it's 10, I don't feel like I'm freezing to death when it's in the late teens, and 30 degrees is nice and warm. _________________ Hi, my name is Jenna.

Who cares what you call it really, let's just say "It's hot" or "it's cold." Or in my circumstances "It's hot" or "It's really hot." _________________ To Write Love On Her Arms the world is poor because her fortune is buried in the sky and all her treasure maps are of the earth. |
