Well I'd say that is a very naughty joke. *shakes finger so violently it flies off and across the room, out the open window into the bush below where a bird mistakes it for a large and very juicy worm which she picks up and flies to her nest and feeds to her little baby chickidees* _________________ Yeah... |

I personally don't like the title. It reminds me of a Hilary Duff album title or something. A rose by any other name...? _________________ EvilSpace |

It's the name of a song on the record. i don't expect lots of affirmations re: eisley's ideas, songs, titles, etc... but the hilary reference - ? Maybe I'm just sensitive; Former management is no longer because they advised that eisley accept a tour w/ hilary. No ill-will toward her or anyone... but that just wasn't a match. I present no argument for anyone liking or disliking the new album name, but out of curiosity, I googled Hilary songs/titles... and learned that "Party Up, Sweet Sixteen and Girl Can Rock" are fine Duff examples. If "Combination" can be perfectly framed with any of those, maybe Eisley should rethink the name, but... I just don't see it. Maybe JBaker is thinking about hilary's 2003 album release - "Metamorphosis"? Maybe he's got a point. It's one word; it ends in an "s"... I dunno. Look, she's a Disney pop artist. It's her identity that lends ill-cred toward the title, not the opposite... Eisley's selected title is defensible - especially within the context of their brand... but that's just a reasonable opinion... in my opinion. _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. I sort of like it. It's interesting. It's simple and intriguing. I won't lie and say I LOVE it. I think I'll have to hear the title song, and the entire album and let it sink in and possibly grow on me. My first thought was sort of along the lines of...fast food combos. bleh. But I think the name is very three-dimensional and could have lots of underlying meaning when paired with the songs. _________________ -Brooke |

Haha, I wasn't trying to specifically compare Eisley to Hilary Duff in any way. I used Hilary Duff to represent sugary pop stars more than anything. Again, I'm not even trying to compare Eisley to that genre of "music" (if that's the appropriate term for it). When I read the title "Combinations" for some reason my thoughts just went straight to "pop album," but that could be just me. I was a fan of the title "Room Noises" because it wasn't the title of a song or the band (please don't do a s/t). I guess the creativity of a fresh album title is just appealing to me. I completely understand your defense of the name though. That's just the way I was personally struck by it. It wouldn't have to have a title or art and I'd still buy it. And I guess I could see "Combinations" being an easily marketable title. Obviously, I haven't heard the record, so it could very well be the perfect title for it. _________________ EvilSpace |

I might be full of hot head air (it's breezy up there), but for more understanding - read my new journal. I swear it's not a novel. I touch on a few of these points. Keep in mind - without hearing the song, you're just referencing a phonetic sound with an attached definition. http://www.eisley.com/journals/trolleywood/ Skip down to the word: " C O M B I N A T I O N S " _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. Here's a theory as to why people have been reminded of Rumours... Was Rumours not released and written about breaking up and all that jazz? You get the rumours about the person, or something Combinations also fits partnerships, in a way. The combining of people to create love.... just a thought. incidentally, i have rumours on tape. _________________ She is handsome, she is pretty, she is the girl from Belfast City, she is courtin' one two three, please won't you tell me who is she?
