While people cook, there are usually two types: people who go strictly by the recipe and others who toy around with it and add their own spices and such to the dish. Which one are you, if you cook or bake.

When I cook, I will generally spice things up to my liking just because I know it won't affect the outcome of the meal in a negative way. But when I bake, (yes, I can cook AND bake, giving me the ability to create the ultimate date setting. If I could just meet a girl that would give me a proper chance that doesn't live in Texas.) I follow the recipe to a T.

when i cook, i most of the time add some form of spice to a sauce or whatever just to call it my own, and it usually turns out better.

when i bake, i will most of the time add cinnamon if the recipe does not already call for it.

It always depends with me. If I'm baking, I'll probably be exact, at least until I know the recipe enough to know if I should toy with it. I'll leave out ingredients I don't like in other things, though. Or add things I do, etc.

baking is a science and therefore can't be toyed with too much, although I do have a tendency to tamper with baking recipes anyway. But with cooking, however, I tend to throw caution to the wind whenever possible as long as I get the general directions right.

a lot of the times, i just go in the kitchen and create something, and a lot of the other times i go in and improve the stuff you buy at stores, like Mac 'n Cheese, i make a killer Tex-Mex Mac 'n Cheese, and also an asian influenced one, it's faster to do that when i don't have time to actually cook, (call me the male Sandra Lee, ha), but i do love to cook, bake, whatever else...

Next time you make it, try adding an egg while you cook it.

No, if you make the Ramen on the stovetop, just crack an egg into it.
