Why did the U.S. get involved in Iraq conflicts?? Do you think they should have?

I'm more concerned with whether or not the U.S. should've gotten involved in Iraq. Shocked Anyway, on a serious note, I don't think we should've gone over there (for various reasons I won't get into), but it is good that the crackpot dictator is out of there, no matter what anyone feels about our tactics...

Obviously there was some bad stuff happening over there. While I agree that Saddam wasn't a fit leader and should have been taken out of power, I think Bush did it in a manner that was completely innapropriate. Instead of making up false accusation (weapons of mass desctruction? Rolling Eyes ) he should have simply told us the truth: "Ok America, we are going into Iraq in order to free the people, take out one of our countries enemies, and to gain oil assets". I would have prefered that to what he did anyway, because as of now I'm still waiting for all the evidence.

I'm sure that eventually other nations would have backed the Iraq operations. I think we could have waited for that time. I also think that Bush used what seems very much like a loophole to gain a great deal of power in the decision, as he did not formally declare war. Since Congress must pass a decision to declare war, it would have held up the operation a great deal and potentially stopped it from happening. This police action junk is just a cheat.

I have nothing intelligent to say.

That was completely irrelevant.

Sorry.

im going to say that im kinda on the fence. I support it because i fell that some one had to step in and put a stop to some of the thing going on over there. i wasnt so happy that no one bothered to help but im sure they had thier reasons so i wont hold it against them. ....on the other hand...i really dont like how we approach the conflict. Bush wants us to hold him up on some Higher pedistal because he thinks he has solved a problem by only taking away the wrong answer. yet not providing them with a solution. I feel he took it upon himself and our tax paying dollars to fight a war and put our nation more in debt by rebuilding a country we wrongly blew up...i just feel that we could have done it in a more sophisticated way, but that it had to done.

See....i really dont know how i feel on it.,..and it will probably be in question for years to come.

I'm SO sorry everybody, I guess the fact that we spell it: "Irak" in my language, is probably the reason of my Freudian lapsus...SORRY again

I spell lots of things differently from the americans and I continue to spell things the same way I was taught on this forum so don't worry too much about it...I certainly don't Smile

guys,is it too hard to comprehend that someone from another country in this case Argentina(I think) spells something differently?

you all know what it means so can't you just answer the question without being so pedantic?

middle east.. and i dont think we shoulda gone over there... while im very much against saddam and his politcal practices.. but people have to fight for their own freedom, it wasnt our job to liberate them, especially by false accusation in attempts to gather oil ... there are definitly things we could of done that didnt put ourselves soooo far into debt. like maybe help a resistance against saddam that we dont start. as long as it dont end up like cuba, or the philipines, or panama... god we are imperialists..
