I used to be like that with Eisley, but now I tell everyone about them. I won't mind if they're famous, but I might mind if younger kids or rude people start coming on here and being annoying. _________________ I know how I was born and I know that I have no choice. The only reason why I don't want to "share" Eisley is because I always want their shows to be small. I hate large sized shows and concerts because it really makes it less personal. Also, I'm pretty short so if I'm not near the stage, I can't see a thing. Even at Eisley's shows now (and all other small shows for that matter), I tend to end up standing behind a person with the biggest hair ever or the one person in the room who's tall enough to join the NBA. Also, I wouldn't be able to see them as much if their ticket prices went up since I won't be able to afford it. Other than that, I'm happy to tell everyone about them even though most people give me the "shut up" look. _________________ Hi, my name is Jenna.

First time I saw 'em was at a 200 capacity venue, back in november. Then i got my tickets to see them at Oran Mor for March this year, which is probably about 500 (i don't know: i've never been). THe venue got changed to the ABC1, which is effectively your average 1500ish venue. it sold out. _________________ She is handsome, she is pretty, she is the girl from Belfast City, she is courtin' one two three, please won't you tell me who is she? All it'd take would be one MossLake tour to rule all of Europe. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I remember when I finally joined LC a little after Room Noises was released (if you couldn't read) and making a topic like this, saying how since Room Noises had been released it/they would never be the same. What we all have to realize here is that a lot of people here have been here since the days of the self released EPs and then their little Eisley world was crushed when Laughing City came out. Then Marvelous Things (when I started really getting into Eisley) and then I started seeing Room Noises in people's cars and witness some stranger giving it to someone else at their birthday at a resturant. Their little Eisley isn't their's anymore and it can't be ours now. There'll be a huge wave of new fans soon. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I can't see Eisley getting smaller with any new album or single. The Eisley we know now will be different (to us, they will still be the same) in a couple months. No matter how much you want to keep them to yourself, tens of thousands people already have/could have Room Noises and even more have listened to/know Eisley. They are not a little indie band anymore. What we want isn't what Eisley needs. I don't know what I just typed. All-in-all I don't care if people know about them. In fact, I like not knowing when people are Eisley fans and then find out later. |

You know, I have the same problem. (A little off topic...) A couple years ago I saw Built to Spill in Dallas. It was at the Gypsy Tea Room, so a semi-small show. I'm 5'4'' which isn't terribley short, but the majority of the people I know are taller than me. So, while we're waiting for Built to Spill to come on, my friend and I move to closer to the front. Unfortunately we ended up behind these people who must've been six feet or a little over. Well, the show started and we're really having a good time, but we can't really see. At one point halfway through the show one of the tall girls in front of us turns around and sees two short girls behind her and her friends. She must've took pity or something because she insisted we come and stand in front of her. We moved ahead in front of her group which brought up right up on the stage. This has never happened since, but it was a still nice moment for a short person like me. _________________ My name is actually Sarah. Facebook. Twitter. |

I know what you mean...but I still like to share them with as many people as possible because I really want the band to benefit from it. When we lived in the states I had my good friend Aubrey (PurpleCloud) listen to some and then she was as hooked as I was and it's kind of "our thing." Now almost the whole church likes Eisley and some of the little girls get really annoying about it but yea, it's all good. What I really don't like is when you ask someone "Do you like so and so or hav eyou heard of such and such a band?" And instead of saying "I don't really like them" they say "They're ok" or "They aren't that good." You can acknowledge that they don't fit your taste without dissing the band - and opera might burn your ears off but at least acknowledge the incredible talent that some people have. _________________ To Write Love On Her Arms the world is poor because her fortune is buried in the sky and all her treasure maps are of the earth. |

Thursday did a really good job of that, really good job. They were on a major label and were playing probably some of the tiniest clubs in a while on a recent tour. They left Island though so they will probably go back to an indie. But yeah, it doesn't necessarily mean you can't do it if you're a big band. |
