I was trying to figure out the lyrics for this from the two videos there are of it on youtube but I pretty much failed. While I was doing that I realized that I really, really, really love this song though. I think it's my favorite. I can't tell what it's about that much since I don't know all the lyrics but I love the switching lead vocals and I love how Stacy sings "I can't control my feelings." <333

so here's what I have, the parts in the paranthesis are just placeholders basically because I know they're ridiculous:

(do or think talks)
I can't control my feelings
(and who hid me) I just might be
coming round (a 'verse)
and I still say (we can't crack things)
(consequently torched)

and he looked to see that it was she
just some abandoned little crook like me
adieu, adieu, and fare thee well
this was the ending please

oh, whoa...
I was attached (one day beneath, I declined my leave)

but who could blame
a fraction of her being
she is cheesy, she is scrawny
with her uncanny styling
I'm teasing, she is pleasing
she just has no wit

and I'm sorry I don't have her face
and I'm probably gonna lose this race
there is no doubt she's such a mouse
with such an abstract grace

oh, whoa...
there is no cure, I am sure, for these ten cent blues

and then she chose to (die said to)
and I was casted into poverty
when I did not agree with her
she said "you've got nerve"

but I don't care if I'm (blasted) for all these things
if I were one among this crowd would you hold hands with me

in a way it's making me crazy
in the sense that it's making me stronger
a likely chance and it's probably proven
in the end we'll all walk away

shaking hands on the (dirt), I salute you, sir
stranger than having fits and a part of it

and that I saw it all

When Stacy first sings I hear her say "I might as well beat around the bush". I don't think that's right though. Laughing

I filled in some of the lyrics with what I think it is.

Also, instead of 'abstract grace', on The Baby demos I always heard 'abstract brain'.

10 cent blues reminds me of this:

delta blues - its not modern in any sense but its a ghost blowing cold smoke up your spine.

I've always heard "abstract grace". Since you can hear a "ssssss" sound at the end of the line.

Dear orthodox
I can't control my feelings
and who hit me? I just might be
coming round the bush
and my stilts they began cracking
subsequently pushed

and I looked to see that it was she
just some abandoned little crook like me
adieu, adieu, and fare thee well
this was the ending please

oh, whoa...
I was attached on bended knee, yet I declined my leave

but who could blame
a fraction of her being
she is cheesy, she is scrawny
with her uncanny styling
I'm teasing, she is pleasing
she just has no wit

and I'm sorry I don't have her face
and I'm probably gonna lose this race

oh, whoa...
there is no cure, I am sure, for these ten cent blues

and then she chose to dissect me
and I was casted into poverty
when I did not agree with her
she said "you've got nerve"

but I don't care if I'm granted for all these things
if I were one among this crowd would you call that defeat?

in a way it's making me crazy
in the sense that it's making me stronger
a likely chance and it's probably proven
in the end we'll all walk away

shaking hands on the doormat, I salute you, sir

this is my favorite one so far! it sounds like something stacy would have thought up after listening to the newer midlake album often.

"this was the ending plea"

cause i didn't hear the "s" and "e" after "plea", but that's just me...
