ahh a good bill/hannah debate. oh how ive missed these.

lets take a look at these rules shall we

3 - Keep it clean and do not post illegal or offensive content. Moderators will edit/remove such content without prior notice.

* Avoid the use of foul language.
* Nudity, pornography, sexual topics, and sexual innuendo are inappropriate.

now lets look here http://www.eisley.com/laughingcity/viewtopic.php?t=31414

tell me that is not full of sexual innuendo. yet it still goes on and noone says a word

5 - Do not attack other Laughing City community users. Everyone has their own opinions on a variety of topics - especially so concerning music - and it's OK to disagree. If you disagree with someone, disagree politely and do not make personal attacks. Name-calling, insults, and other such attacks online are called "flaming" and will not be tolerated. "A little respect goes a long way."

going with what you said. i scrutinized with nora on what i felt was a violation of the rules.
i did not resort to name calling unlike her, which is also a violation of the rues.

even if she does do these things, since when has it been your job to keep her in check or correct her or whatever...

whatever, man. whatever.

again doing what she did in telling of violation of laughing city rules.

- 7 - If moderators observe behaviours described in Rules 5 and 6, they will warn the user as well as the thread in question. If a thread receives 3 warnings, it will be closed. Warnings will be clearly explained when they occur.

sure i broke this rule, but from what i can tell, rules cleary state it is the moderators job to talk to the poster when rules have been broken. not other users who happen to be veterans to this board.

all in all i think its a case of dish it out but cant take it. nora can say all she wants but the second it comes back at her its 'i was just jokeing' or 'whatever, jerk'
that being said. no matter what the motive, being an ass, is still being an ass. and i know, cuz i can smell my own.

good night folks

I don't know why you are attacking me in this thread. I wasn't trying to be mean or rude in any way. Which you seem to think I TRY to be mean or rude to people. I was however being helpful to the poster. More than once in this thread even.

Perhaps the SLUT thread was overstepping it, but it was always based on a mainstream news story that was repeatedly aired, even during family hours. My apologies if that offended anyone.

On the Nora thing: You'll take notice that a majority of Nora's replies of late have been very helpful and not even remotely rude. If she's rude, I make sure it's taken care of. Trust me.

And I wholeheartedly agree with Pantheon.

This could have been taken care of on a PM to myself and/or Nora. These little spats just make it even more awkward for new people who are thinking of/trying to work their way in.

you know what a really dumb question is?

why is jamie so awesome?
because its too easy to answer.

he is the glue stick that holds the contruction paper together.

he is the glue that makes my model cars (but for some reason he wont paint it)

he is the rubber cement that mends the porcelin doll that i need to fix before my parents get home

he is the duct tape i use to hold up my car bumper

thats all i got

I've seen it both ways, often when Boyd is too rushed to type it properly. Laughing In all articles and interviews, it's DuPree. Cajun names have that funky French capitalization.

There are a lot of threads where I believe mods have turned a blind eye or otherwise went with the flow; the MP3 sharing thread in particular could be considered illegal content but it's been treated rather laxly and Jamie (or gRegor, perhaps?) explained the mods' criteria as far as that's concerned fairly recently. I'm not even going to get into what the mods do and don't do, since that doesn't change what the rules are and how we as regular old Laughing Citizens interact with them.

In her original post, Nora called the thread creator "dude". Not the flamingest of attacks, there. She called you a jerk, but that was after you targeted her and called her snooty, so seems like fair play to me. Wink

Hypocrisy, thy name is... you! Laughing Seriously, did you really type that with a straight face? A) Nora didn't break any rules, and B) it's not your job to call her out on it if she did. If her posts really bother you that much, I think it would accomplish more and cause less strife for you to PM Jamie directly--he's really good about responding to concerns and resolving the issue whenever possible. If nothing else, he would be able to explain why Nora hasn't received any kind of public "discipline" for what could be considered inflammatory posts. And as he pointed out above, she really has mellowed out lately.

And I repeat, Nora didn't do anything wrong in this thread. Want to call her out on something nasty she said? Do it in a thread where she actually said something nasty. Splahing on her for nothing in this thread just keeps it from sliding off of page one like it should.

I just realized, the original issue resolved. And since no one can resist the final word, I'm going to cut it off before that's even a problem. Nothing is left that can't be resolved via PM.
