Gear nerds rule. I'm so serious. wull....they're all asweep; but...they did score some cool blobs of gear. (if gear can be measured in blobs) More later. bd _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. I was going to make a post about this too. The first thing I noticed in the RS pic was the VOX ac-30(?) behind Sherri, then I saw the '72 Telecaster Custom. I can't quite tell what Chauntelle was playing other than that it looked to be a black tele. I'm glad to see Eisley using the best sounding guitars/amps around (to my ears anyway). I saw the fender bass too, but I'm not too good at bass nerdery informations. I could ask so many questions! AHH! I'd love to have that gear! |

Righteous. (i would never say righteous....but these aren't real words I'm saying. "in my own little corner in my own little room, I can be what...ever I want to be...") Anyway, you nailed it on Sherri's gear. The rig rocks. (say that with big, gutteral dj voice) Chauntelle got a Gretch (Chamagne Sparkle) with a bigsby....the exact guitar (his was black) that George used for the majority of his years with the Beatles. It's got this wonderful 60's-ish chunko-twang...with a "neither Strat nor Les Paul nor anything but a Gretch sound. Sorry. can't remember model name/number) She also got an American Telecaster - (Candy Tangerine) finish. She already has her Fender (hot rod) deville...2 -12's. Weston is getting a Gretch - USA custom kit - Red Sparkle.....9X12, 14X14, 16X16, 22X18....almost exactly like he's using now (64 Red Sparkle Holiday Rogers) except for my kick is 14" deep. It won't be ready until July because I think they have to go chop down some trees. Sherri will be using both her new guitar and the ole' pink sparkle les paul with the vintage d'marzio humbucker on the bottom - you know, for chunk. They both got the green line 6 delay pedals... Stacy is getting her Rhodes completely refurbished...by Thomas of the Elms's dad - who I proclaim is an expert in the art of Rhodeology (i made that up...if they coin it, they owe me royalties) . He's not only doing the guts (lifters, keys, tines, wraps, gargoils, coils, dampening rods, pick ups, valve covers...he'll be adjusting critical tolerances to maximize for soft tones as well as biting, nasty hammers, etc...He'll also be looking at structural integrety and...he's giving it a massive make over...based on Stacy's design specs - White wrap with a red sparkle harp cover. It's going to be beautiful. Not sure when we get that. So...there is more gear to get...but, I don't like to yammer about it for promotion sake; in the end...it's just tools for the trade; But, it can really affect the outcome of a live show.....and I answer the question because a kindred gear-head wanted to know! Guys like to know these things...it's important. So, we'll be verbal about it. I could talk about the elaborate in-ear monitor set up they're getting. (being forced to get...management orders) oh my gosh....but, for another day....and there's more yet. _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. where does the Rhodes fixer live? i have a Rhodes that needs some repair. a month after i got it, it started cutting out. sometimes it has to be on a while before it will play. congrats on the cool gear. it would be nice to actually have an amp. i play through a console stereo with 1/4in jacks. of course i don't play live. =) _________________ I am Torgo. Neosho Mo. I hear he's pretty good at fixing Rhodes. But not so much at being the last poster. (Ha ha. |

In response to Andrews questions. The tom sizes are actually pretty standard. Weston will step up to a 10x13, 16x16, 18x18, 18x24 with the new Gretsch kit. Which happens to be the same sizes as two of the greatest, Kieth Moon (first two tours) and David Grohl, among many other credible rock-n-roll drummers. And as far as the Marshall Mode four question goes. It is the most watts Marshall has ever put into a head, but it has a solid state power amp. Meaning no tubes. So it is not as loud or as crunchy as say a JCM800 or any other 100w tubed Marshall head. Just an FYI, oh yea Chauntelles Gretsch is a 1961 reissue of the Champagne Spkl double cutaway 6120. And Sherri just bought a Rickenbacker 360-JG, and a 1972 Tele thinline DLX in lake placid blue. Also both Chauntelle and Sherri have the new Fulltone Fulldrive 2 with the clean comp, flat mids, and vintage voicing options. Cant remember if Boyd posted about those or not. MrJynx |
