Greetings. My name is Chani. I've been a fan of Eisley's since my freshman year of college which was in 2005. I've been to three shows so far; one in Vegas and two in Salt Lake City. I've been a member for quite some time, apparently. I had no idea. At any rate, I've lived in Las Vegas for about 20 years (interrupted by college and other wanderings). I'm 21. My favorite band is Crosby Stills Nash and Young, amongst many others... so... hi? and whatnot.. and things.. -Chani Pronounced like Annie with a CH myspace.com/riiell _________________ It's better to burn out, than to fade away.. |

Welcome, Chani! Feel free to make yourself at home and dive right in! Also, the Laughing City AIM chat room is a good way to speed up the familiarization process. Anyway, I'm glad you're starting to post! _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Well, I feel a bit awkward about jumping in here without having read the previous 287 pages of introductions, but so be it. I've been a huge Eisley fan for about three years now, ever since I serendipitously heard their first album being played over the loudspeakers at a Barnes & Noble. I was immediately drawn to the wistful, yearning sound that the first album creates so well. I also really like the heavier rock sounds in several more recent tunes on Combinations. The one thing that Eisley has managed to do well across the board is come up with hooks that stay in your head for days. And even on a sophomore album! (Most sophomore albums go way downhill, because the band doesn't have several years to polish something really good, and plus they're running out of ideas anyway. Absolutely not the case here.) In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say that Eisley is among the top two Texas-based bands of Christian homeschooled families that have two siblings do most of the singing. (The other one is Leeland.) Seriously, some of my favorite albums of all time are Eisley's two main albums, along with Leeland, Keane, Travis, U2, Sixpence's final album, and PFR. (I also love George Michael's Listen Without Prejudice, but I don't know if I'm supposed to admit that.) I also like a lot of a cappella and/or Celtic stuff such as Anuna (see here, and a beautiful clip from their first album is here). About myself: 33 years old; married for 11 years; 5 kids (two adopted); majored in classical guitar in college (see here), before going to law school. (Here's a clip of me playing a few months back, although I'm a bit out of practice.) Speaking of homeschooling, I was homeschooled myself all the way through high school (except for 4th through 6th grade at a Christian school). When I get some spare time to read, I love anything by C.S. Lewis, George MacDonald, Tolkien, Chesterton, etc. I'm a sucker for the Anne of Green Gable series from the 1980s, or just about any Frank Capra movie. OK, that's enough information. Cheers! Greetings. Hello, I'm Sarah... I'm 16 (turning 17 in September). I live in Brazil, in a small town called Sao Joao del Rei. I discovered Eisley through a friend of mine and It was love at first sight. And btw, I've never been to their concert, because they have never been to Brazil _________________ _________________

Tell everyone you know about Eisley, and make as many fans as you can, and maybe they can catch on. Then maybe that'll be enough to get Eisley there one day. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Hiya guys! I'm Darcy, I live in Virginia and I've been a huge fan of Eisley since about March or April of 06 I think. Just after they played at the 930 Club in DC of course. I've turned so many of my friends on to the band, including my best friend who lives all the way in New Zealand. I've kept up with the journals and have all their music and I FINALLY saw the band live when they played the Satellite Ballroom in October (I drove 3 hours to see them!). It was AMAZING. I couldn't stop smiling for a week after. I had a conversation with Boyd about cameras (I'm SO surprised I managed to speak with any sort of coherency, I was that excited) and I spoke with Chauntelle and Sherri (I love Sherri hehe) and got the band to record a greeting for my New Zealand friend. I absolutely love Eisley, they're one of, if not my favourite band. I love how down to earth the Duprees all are, I think that's one of the biggest draws. They're not jerks, they're not into themselves or spoiled or anything. It seems like they're friends who just happen to have an amazing , famous band |

I'm Crystal, but most everyone calls me Chuck. I live Salt Lake, Utah. I am 22. I have been a big fan of Eisley for quite sometime and have actually gone thru these forums a lot but never signed up... until now obviously. I suppose that is all I have to say for now. _________________ There is a seriously lack of frolicing going on. I'm here to remedy that. |

Mallory here. I'm 18 and live in California. I was introduced to Eisley through a friend a few years ago (2003-ish?). The first song I ever heard from Eisley was "Marvelous Things" and I was completely stunned at the beautiful imagery and figurative language in the song. Ever since then, I've been a huge fan. |

Hi, everybody... I'm Becky, I'm sixteen, and I live in Utah where it is exceptionally cold. I'm not a fan of that. I love music, both listening and creating. I'm in a band in which every member is an ardent Eisley fan. We even cover Marvelous Things sometimes, when we feel like being amazing. I first heard Eisley via the guitar player for my band, and I am absolutely HOOKED. I would love to see them at Sundance next week, but I think it's pretty much impossible to get in unless you're famous. Oh well. _________________ for a minute there, i lost myself. |
