well, hullo everyone. i am leslie from kentucky (yes, like playgroundlove, a fellow newbie! she is mah main guurl.). i, like mckenna, first heard eisley when they played with brand new in cinci...and they were cool times 382579384. yeah, sherri and...well, one of the other members (i didnt know who they were or anything) were standing outside after the concert and my friends and i were just sitting on the curb thing, and mckenna, being the oh-so-smart person she is, told sherri that they did really great. i just made a dumb "whaaaa.." noise, and then realized it was eisley. HA! i just had to share that VERY INTERESTING story.

the word "newbies" reminds me of that movie "the newsies" about the paperboys. i just had to add that in.

I LOVE EISLEY! alright, now. tata.

mr durden, glad you like radiohead.

yes. it's very likely that we stopped at a gas station after the show that
night in Austin since we had to get up and head to Dallas for the Next
Stage show. btw. The band has played in Ausin 3 times since the
Coldplay show - a live in-store at Waterloo, Emo's and Stubbs.

thanks so much for the cool post. boyd

And just wanted to say welcome to all you newbies....(yes. movie ref. is
accurate) To blame in on dumb luck or whatever...funny story. were you
dissing sherri becuz you didn't like them? or was it just funny weirdness?
Anyway, thanks for liking the band... Kentucky ehh? dang that's a long
way away.

Yeah, I'm Paul. I'm a student at Western (the only university that matters in Ontario, Canada - although that's perhaps not saying much...)

I'm 20. I've never seen eisley play live, and my interest is a totally internet-borne phenomenon. I was looking around for 'Gathering-esque' bands and came across Eisely. They reminded me of the Gathering, a New York indie act called Elysian Fields, and Portishead.

Basically, I'm a guitarist whose pining for the fjords, both in the monty-python sense and in the Eurometal sense. The former should be refined to mean that my band is defunct (i.e. it has lost the funk), while the latter should be qualified in that my musical tastes are varied, but sometimes you can't help but flip on the metal-zone and abuse your whammy-bar like it's LA in 1986.

My university town is a haven for phish cover-bands and sundry other jam band outfits. Oh yes, and we've cornered the world's supply of Tragically Hip and Pearl Jam cover bands. It's good, if that's your bag. But supposing you wanted to play straight jazz, Dregs-type fusion, progressive metal (OPETH), classic rock or basically ANYTHING else - you're outta luck.

Having been playing for 11 years now, I love to write music and jam whenever possible. In view of my situation, however, I am relegated to cheering on other indie bands whose particular jib I like the cut of. Eisley members should consider themselves lucky that I have been won over by their music. Cause seriously, the internet is awash with right CRAP indie rock. Hmmm... So maybe it was I who was lucky to find them??

Nevermind that. Now that I've sufficiently rambled and given my whole biography, I'll be pleased to take questions. Arivaderci!

hey, i've posted a few times without introducing myself so i figured it was time.. This is James from Syracuse NY, i'm 20 as of Dec. 3, and a sophomore at Syracuse University... I'm a premed biology major, but my loves are playing drums in my band and working on my private pilot's license in my free time. my best friend showed me the video for Marvelous Things and i've been listening to Eisley's music since.... Life is good, don't complain, i look forward to talking with everyone.

Oh leslie, I am not so smart. Hehe, I love that story. Almost as good as the "You documented my existance" story. Man, I just realized, lots of funny things happened on that curb, lol. Wink

Oh yes, and I love the screenname dahling. That song rocks my socks.

i wasnt dissing sherri, silly! sherri is neato. when i said the "whaa" thing, it was because i didnt know that she was in the band, and i was confused (because...i am a genius like that. hehe). funny weirdness, i s'pose.
