But I think Frank Miller right now is so far beyond and outside of what the comics community want and accept right now that he is better off going into movies, where he is a fresh and accepted voice. Not that he can't be completely bonkers sometimes. I'm not even sure he could drop something like DKR these days and have it be received the way it was. Wonder how long he'll be "accepted" after this... http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/news/new-disappointing-trailer-for-th e-spirit-gets-leaked.php Why Frank... why? _________________ The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think. - Horace Walpole |

It's a trailer ... And that's just an Internet loudmouth. But that said, yeah, it's just a trailer. Maybe it'll suck, but he hasn't been truly connected to a bad movie since the Robocop series, so it would just be one miss. I'll have to find out when the movie is actually on. Oh yeah, I forgot to go "Owly!" earlier. What a sweet, fun and cute comic. And it's about an owl! Perfect. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I'm sorry, I don't think you can write it off as "just a trailer". By definition, a trailer is supposed to peak your interest in a film. Give you a glimpse of what's to come. This looks like a mess. Sam Jackson as a samurai? Annnd a nazi? Nazis were racist... so umm.. how does that work? And after all the huff and puff Miller made about Hollywood destroying his work, he goes and does essentially the same thing to The Spirit? And Will Eisner was supposedly his friend... ?? This is also his first real chance in Hollywood, this is him behind the helm... so I think saying "he hasn't been truly connected to a bad movie since the Robocop series" is more than just a little misleading. _________________ The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think. - Horace Walpole |

I should mention I mean "bad movie" in a general public opinion sense. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I remember that years and years ago it was acquired for development by Disney, however that project fell through. I went and saw Scott McCloud and Jeff Smith give a talk about two months ago and a movie was never brought up, so my best guess is that there's nothing in the works for it at the moment. _________________ ...time machine. Why Frank... why? i think it looks $#@! awesome, personally! then again, when the guy wonders whether it'll be like Sin City or Sky Captain And The World Of Tommorrow, i don't have a clue what he's trying to say — don't both Sin City and Sky Captain And The World Of Tommorrow kick 99.99% of the movies out there's ass?! which is supposed to be the “bad” one? hmm… maybe Speed Racer would be a better “bad” one, but even that was a total blast! i'm not sure how it'd fair on DVD (as opposed to IMAX!), though… wait, am i really sending an off-topic discussion off-topic? i'll just shut up… |

The Watchmen trailer was promising, though I would need to see more acted out before I can make a verdict. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |
