Ok, don't shoot me if this has made the rounds already. I looked through a few pages in here and didn't see this topic. There's a song out there called "Some are Lakes" by a band called Land of Talk (been hearing them on Sirius satellite radio lately). The music is Eisley-esque, but the lead vocalist even more so remind me a lot of either Stacy or Sherri. I keep looking at the TV screen when the song comes on, thinking it might be some kind of new Eisley song. Either that, or that one of the DuPrees has lent their vocals to someone else's song. Anyone one else hear it?..... P. _________________ "Enjoy Every Sandwich" - Warren Zevon "What's Life Without Music?" - The Mermaid Purse www.myspace.com/ptah |

There's a topic about this band in the music forum already. I don't hear Stacy/Sherri so much as Kristen May from Vedera. _________________ |

Glad I'm not the only one who likes them, or hears the Vedera comparison, so I'm not crazy, or ya'll are too, the more the merrier! _________________ yup, that's my name. Land of talk is one of my favourite bands. They're from Montreal and I usually get the chance to see them every few months. Last week they performed in Ottawa with the broken social scene (Liz, from Land of Talk) lent a hand doing the female vocals for the BSS performance. They're new album (Some are lakes) just came out, and they also recently released an acoustic CD featuring songs from their first album and this new one, along with this fantastic cover of the wintersleep song "Weighty Ghost". If you haven't checked out Canadian indie (especially from montreal/toronto) I would encourage you to give it a shot, its like nothing else! Speaking as a fan (and not someone on Eisley's management team), I think it would really cool to see Land of Talk do a tour with Eisley. Here's a link to Land of Talk's myspace page http://www.myspace.com/landoftalkmtl _________________ Nico New Media Emerge AM |

Saw them Open and play with BSS a few weeks back in Missouri, where I am from and currently at, and was immediately taken. Trolling the blogosphere you can find just about all their albums tracks or very high quality live. I actually tracked the disks down via Amazon fairly cheap too. Yeah, the Dears and the Stills are faves too, and of course there are other excellent exports widely known DFA 1975, Tegan and Sara, Tragically Hip, Apostle of Hustle, Feist, Esthero, we can go on for days... so from one North American to another, as far as music goes I am completely for NAFTA. _________________ yup, that's my name.
