I'm not trying to be a grump or anything, but is it just me or does it sound like Eisley is changing up their sound a bit and sounding a bit "harder" than they have been? If I only heard the music without the singing for Smarter, I wouldn't ever think that it was an Eisley song. Again, I'm not trying to be negative about it... I'm just pointing out what I think. _________________ Be happy, be contagious. |

Well, Eisley songs are whatever Eisley plays, regardless. They have always had harder rock tendencies than people like to think (Head Against the Sky, Many Funerals). I would loathe if they chose just one path or the other. The pedaled guitar part is definitely new for them, but there are definite "Eisley" moments in the song, too. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

hahah Catey I'm glad you weren't joking, actually. The whole first while of my videos (before they start playing anything) is like, "Holy crap! They look so good!" and my mom is all, "Stacy's hair is black?" and I say "yes, it has been. where have you been?!" so, i feel less weird now... golly_sandra wrote: I'm not trying to be a grump or anything, but is it just me or does it sound like Eisley is changing up their sound a bit and sounding a bit "harder" than they have been? Well, I really think that song is to show that they actually CAN pull that sound off. Like no offense to them, but 'Many Funerals" to me sounds like they wanted to rock out and didn't know how, and "Smarter" sounds like they finally got the hang of it! Dangit, someone beat me to uploading. people are so speedy! I think I'm going to put them up for download on my blog. I've got full recordings of: Many Funerals Be Kind Like the Actors Just Like We Do Mr Pine Ten Cent Blues Smarter Come Clean Golly Sandra Tree Tops Go Away parts of: ICBT4U A Sight to Behold Memories Marvelous Things I Wasn't Prepared Invasion off to james morrison soon! |

Yeah they've always rocked pretty hard. I like it when they play many funerals and over the mountains. I always wanted to have their third lp a mix between their first and second album. I don't want to lose the magical vibe they always possess but I like the new sound they bring. |

Uhm... I LOVE Many Funerals, but it's a atypical time signature, so it's pretty not a novice thing for sure. It's almost Math Rock, which is about as rock as you can get, cause Math Rock is hipster Metal i. e. Mastodon That's not everybodies cup of tea, but i love that they are rocking out, for me that was always their ace in the whole, that they could do it all well. Imagine being a Nirvana fan, and them never having done Unplugged??? You'd have missed out on this whole other side that was really good, and really true to another part of their personality. _________________ yup, that's my name.
