It was a joke. Mainly I just wanted an excuse to post that photo of John Robert getting hit in the face again. AFK, making a .gif. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

I haven't heard the Fb page version yet but I mostly like the other version. I really like the song, though. The only thing I don't like is that sherri's voice does sound kind of cut off during the choruses and I've always thought the transition between the bridge and last chorus was weird. I preferred the acoustic version when chauntelle's part just started. But I understand, choruses are fun, you wanna sing them twice sometimes. |

Very cool sound. My only quibble is that Stacy's voice is too muffled on the "oohs" in the chorus. _________________ Classical guitar cover of "Combinations": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkIpDhvbd2o |

You know what, there was actually something that held me back from getting all into "Smarter" when the videos first came out...I almost didn't like it, except for the some of the word choices. Hearing the recorded version, especially the album quality sound made the song grow on me a lot. I like the flow of the lyrics, Sherri's delivery, the keyboard hits in the background of the verses, and other nuances that I liked Eisley for since the beginning (ending Chorus layers are awesome). It's little things, but it made a big difference to me! And kudos for Eisley and Equal Vision for allowing snippets so soon, even an mp3 download or two! I hope much of the other songs (especially the ones we haven't heard yet) get kept on lockdown, but giving us bits and pieces after such a long of a wait is exciting and ups the anticipation even more! |

I was vacationing at Disney World when news broke about the song being posted, so I've been itching to listen to "Smarter" for a week now and I gotta say that it lived up and surpassed expectations! Love, love, love it! I have a feeling I'm going to be in love with this album, I really do. _________________ "I cannot discuss your verses; for any attempt at criticism would be foreign to me. I love it. For me personally, it has a very unique feel to it that distinguishes it from all Eisley's other songs...perhaps its the lack of fantastical imagery and the "realness" of the song, plus the undertone of conflict, maybe even a bit of anger. That's just my personal opinion though, sorry if I'm pointing out the obvious or totally wrong or anything. |
