I reviewed it at Amazon and will do so on iTunes when I get the chance. I'll post the same review there, but here's what I wrote... "So be very kind..." I've been listening to Eisley for along time now and, I must say, this is their best work to date. The Valley is about heartbreak and finding new love but Eisley does not whine about the pain that was bestowed upon them. In fact, you wouldn't be able to tell they were women who were scorned from first casual listen of most of these songs. The album kicks off with the title track and, boy, does it start off with a bang. Strings bouncing behind Stacy as she states, "Real heart breaker come and take me to the real heartache that everyone's talking about..." sweeping you away into a very choral segment that just plain rocks. Next up is "Smarter", it's about a marriage gone awry and Sherri delivers this song in a way that makes you so happy you're not the person who wronged her. It's not mean but more brutally honest. "Watch It Die" has been an answer to prayers for Eisley fans; Chauntelle shows off her vocals and belts out, "My love for you has died tonight. I don't know how to own you. My love for you was faulty; now, baby, just watch it die." It's gorgeous and only reaffirms that Chauntelle should sing more often than she does. Every song on this album delivers. The songs bounce back and forth from one another, which is one of the highlights on the album. None of these songs come close to being a filler. "Kind" has lush string arrangements and is one of the prettiest songs on the album, thanks to Stacy who croons over this soft track. "Mr. Moon" will take you back to their debut album. It's whimsical, even though, it's not as fantasy-based, but is still edgier than most of Room Noises combined. I have no words to describe the ending of "Mr. Moon" other than epic. Bringing the album to a close is "Ambulance", a ballad that Stacy wrote about her sister, Sherri's, divorce and the heartbreak that came along with it. It's maybe the most bittersweet song of the bunch and packs a punch that goes right down to your core. It ends the album on a bit of a sad note, but it's definitely one of, if not the most, powerful song(s) on the album. Each song is special in it's own way. I can say that I thoroughly enjoy every single song on The Valley for different reasons. Eisley stays true to themselves and aren't afraid to get a little gritty and, at the same time, wear their heart on their sleeves. From start to finish, it is wonderful. I'm very excited to see what Eisley will bring to the table next. This album has been a long time coming and it will be on repeat for months to come. If you've never heard them or have and didn't like them, give this one a shot. It does not disappoint. _________________ cynlovescandy wrote: kulvir wrote: I bet R. Do you have to buy it on iTunes to rate it on iTunes? Followed your link but can't find where to submit a review. _________________ http://www.twitter.com/drstrangeblog http://www.last.fm/user/getinline I can't find the time to write my mind the way I want it to read. |

Wow, the # of reviews jumped from 25 to 75 since I last posted Good tip, I was looking for a link in the web-based arena. However when I'm in the iTunes store, it works. _________________ http://www.twitter.com/drstrangeblog http://www.last.fm/user/getinline I can't find the time to write my mind the way I want it to read. |
