all i know is that i wish i could meet Frodo... like the real Frodo... not the person who played Frodo. although it would be fun to meet him as well... i have this sneaky suspicion that the Eisley group will never become selloutish or too cool for school... they are just too dern cool! and if they did i would cry tears to fill an ocean and drown the earth... and since there was that whole prophecy about the earth never again being covered in water i really don't think we have to worry about that do we? |

Whoa... no no no, antho.. that post wasn't directed to you at all. There's kind of two trains of topic in this thread, I guess.. "JoshtheGoat" posted his thoughts on Eisley's "name-dropping" and a few people (myself included) responded. Some of the responses were a bit heated, so I was just reminding people to be nice. Hope that confusion is cleared up. We're really not that touchy around here. Well, I guess some might be if you said something bad about Radiohead. _________________ "The revolution starts today, not tomorrow." :: got g-Love? |

Dear Joshthegoat, I would've liked to have sent you a private message to respond to your comments, but your email address was not available. First off, i just want to thank all of you that have come to the band's/family's defense. We feel soo loved, and we love all of you. Secondly, just so everyone knows, I (Kim - 4/5ths band mom), took the picture of Frodo with my kid's. We didn't even tell him that some of them were part of the band EISLEY, or ask him to check out their band. We, as simple fans of Frodo, humbly asked him if we could get a photo. He very gracefully agreed. Third, Boyd posts updates, and happenings on here for several reasons. Mostly because people email us and want details. If I ever read things that sound bragacious, I bring it to his attention, and ask him to reword it, so that people can truly read our hearts. We are extremely grateful for the opportunities that have come to the band. Daily, I have emotional thoughts of how undeserving our family is of the blessings that are being poured out on us right now. Daily, we all know that, it could all end tomorrow, and we would all be ok. Our contentment doesn't come from fame, and fortune. Fourth, I personally would bust some heads, if I saw any of this going to any of my kid's head. I really am sorry that you felt that the information stream was arrogant. We are a very open family. We love people. We love to share with people about things in our life, as well as hear what is going on in theirs. This is intented to be an information source for interested fans. My request?..keep us in your prayers....there are plenty of things that are hard about this road. Being misunderstood is just one of the things that we will face. We pray for grace to accept the good and the bad. Sorry to respond so publicly. Sincerely, Kim |

yeah hopefully Eisley doesn't get big too quickly, however, judging from their music, that could totally happen.. however it doesn't matter, because , due to their stellar music i'm sure they'll attract a cult following, like all great bands do.. they've already got a micro following here on this messageboard, as well as errm other places.. I can name at least 7 people I know are totally in love with Eisley without having any contact what so ever with them (I know, because I got them hooked hehe) i've never really had any true contact.. anyway hmm EIsley good things come to mind when I see that name.. what was the point of this post? I've got no clue, just some mindless ramblings from a crazy fan, living here on the west coast, right on the boarder that pretty much seppartates the hicks from the non-hicks here in california hehe.. wait, what? _________________ "strength is just an accident arising from the weakness of others." ~Joseph Conrad ---------------

I've met most of the Eisley members and they're all basically amazing people. I know that anything I say here has probably already been said, but I figured I'd let Kim know that they're an amazing family and very appreciated as well as respected....by me at least...for what thats worth. _________________ Dedicated to the Late Quick Shot! |

Boyd has said on many occasions that this forum is like his weblog. And having read blogs before... I know that people tend to talk about the things going on in their lives... particularly some of the more interesting points (although interesting is a relative term). In this case... it just so happens that the band and the rest of the family's lives are a bit different than ours probably are (well, mine anyway... I can't speak for everybody). It just so happens that they're going on tour with Coldplay, making it into Rolling Stone, and meeting Elijah Wood. I certainly don't believe they speak from a bragging standpoint. It's more like, "hey guys, guess what happened to me today?" And that's just something that regular people do. If I were writing about my life... I would also mention some of the highlights and lowlights about my days. Of course, I'm currently not going to mention celebrities and magazines and such. Not because I'm too humble... but because those things simply don't come into my life. But I promise you... if I met Elijah Wood, it would definitely make it into my blog if I kept one (and I'm not even a fan of the guy). In the past I've posted pictures on the web of Billy Corgan and members of the Smashing Pumpkins from when I got to meet them. That's certainly not name dropping. It's just something people do... LOTS of people. Name dropping would be something along the lines of: "So we were at a party at Steven Spielberg's house the other day. We were talking about some of our favorite bands, and Tom Cruise would not stop talking about how big a fan of Phish he is. We didn't really believe it because Ben Affleck later told us that Tom doesn't even own a Phish CD." Now THAT'S name dropping. Am I making any sense? I think it's just really late and I need to be quiet and go to bed. But a final thought. I'm not one to take up for a band simply because I think their music is cool. I do it in this case because I get a far different impression than the one that joshthegoat seems to be getting. _________________ "If you're a ninja, every day is like friday." -Jamie M. |

Kim, i dont think you need to defend yourself on here, most of us are able to realise why boyd posts on here. I dont know you or any of your family, but what i do know is that to come out with what joshthegoat said he maybe hadnt been observing what you and your family have said on this board. it comes across to me, and probably others that you are both proud parents and if there is anything wrong with that then maybe we should all stop having children. you sent me a cd half way round the world, for which i am eternally grateful, i think if you guys were such sell outs you'd have asked for payment (maybe i shouldnt have said that, cheques in the post anyway i dont think you need to worry, and about becoming sell outs, well if the band make it big they'll get that anyway from people who enjoyed their music when they were 'small', not that they are exactly huge at the mo. Musical snobery of the worst kind, people should get over themselves and enjoy the music. _________________ "A mathematician is a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat which isn't there." - Charles Darwin (legend) |

She's married, wouldn't that be Mrs. Eisley? And Boyd is Mr. Eisley. Heh heh. _________________ "The revolution starts today, not tomorrow." :: got g-Love? |

yeah. ummm, i don't think eisley is well....evil at all. goats are evil though, i mean, they make bad cheese and undrinkable milk. just look at those 2 factors. as far as eisley goes, we'll all see how it turns out you know. i mean, you just don't know do you? eisley could be bigger than some bands and they could just stay local. God has a way of working things out the way they should work out, right? But, if it is fame and fortune Lauren |
