Well that was the best of the 3 Eisley shows I've attended. If your named was or has been Dupree you absolutely killed it in St. Louis. Let it be known, theu are owning the idea that they are a band, vs. A produced act. There was an ittermittent issue with the PA that started about mid set with Sherri's vox fading out, but since most of her songs came before that and it acted ok most of the time the only real effect on the show for an extended period was Sherri having to addresss the issue with the crowd. She threw my favorite venue directly under the bus and backed it up a few times, which was Embarassed for me cause a good friend I hadn't seen for years was running house for the club tonight, and thus backing Mark aka Kapp### when the issue arose and seemed to be the venue rig at fault. They took it in stride, and honestly Sherri seemed to sing with that much more soul on her harmonies that immediately follow, as if she was making sure she was heard and discerned. It was a thing of beauty. Great Show. No formal meet and greet but I got to chit chat with Garron cause I was having a drinl with venue staff after they closed down & they were loading out. He was mellow, no surprise, and put the attendance (at peak the place, not counting balcony lounge was 3/4 full. During Merriment they were at 130 attendance, but I think more people came in. There were 79 walk-ups aka door tickets for the show with is more than 50% (myself included). Also counted more I'LL than MO plates as I walked to the venue from my spot on the street next to the lemp brewery. I was the giant guy leaning on the pillar in front of the restroom hall between the soundbooth & merch table for anyone who was there wondering if the big black dude was venue staff. Nope.

i saw them in 2005 2006 and 2008. t hose shows were good, but there were some flubs and what not.

when i saw them in 2011 and last week they were absolutely amazing.

Important message: Tonight is our OK City show. BUT: Tomorrow night was supposed to be in Tulsa. The promoter has gone AWOL and the club (venue) doesn't know anything about the show (insert anger). This is rare and serious promoter fail. Our agent in NY is on it but there is no show. We just got confirmation on this news. We will find out and point you towards information re: returns.

kind of bunk to have to deal with that. i cant imagine telling your fans you have a show, then you find out the promotor is awol and the venue has no clue.

hope it all works out in the end

Wow- That's a way worse situation than just some bad audio problems. I imagine they have some fans in Tulsa that will be awfully disappointed. And Wil- that Milwaukee show last week was my 4th go-round w/ the Duprees and sorry to say it was the first one not to really engage me. I think it's partly my fault since all the other shows I could walk up to within a few feet of the stage (nothing like that "up close and personal"), but venue does matter- I've been thinking about it and with a huge outdoor stage where the five of them are all fairly far apart from one another, there wasn't that interplay and humor between the 3 girls that I've seen at other shows..I guess you got lucky in STL.

Only Sherri talked at our show, but she did go back to Garron & they jammed facing their amps towards each other during a few of Chauntelle's solos that didn't require her singing. Merriment started their set sans introduction or a word. Then after a song or two she introduced the band and some girl yelled out "you're Christie Dupre!?!" Somebody hasn't been keeping up Laughing so Christie broke down the band concept to the girl, and how she would tell people she was in a band with Colin and they ask for the name and all she had to offer was "Christie Dupree?" Confused That brokw the ice and she wad more talkative throughout the set after that, explaining / introducing Weston "he gets bored waiting during our sets so decided he'd play." And how that filled some of the space in the music and livened it up in so many words.

As far as Oklahoma, wow...true story, during a break between songs I"m pretty sure Weston started playing the drum pattern that opens "Superstitious" by Stevie Wonder. Hope the MIA promoter didn't head out to a Lake in the woods in the last 18 hours...
