It meanders a bit but contains some great moments, best of all is the Chauntelle wailing-out section & outro. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=oS_vYIOsb1w#t =241 _________________ http://www.twitter.com/drstrangeblog http://www.last.fm/user/getinline I can't find the time to write my mind the way I want it to read. |

its always been in my top five of eisley songs. and like most rerecording, i prefer the ep2 one over the hats ep version and chauntelles part is great. _________________ Wil's excellent description of me. wilsmith wrote: You're the Anti-Censorship+Topless Twitpic Parodying+Youth Group Video Directing guy that's a champion for the 1st amendment, Videogames as Art, and unrepentant file sharing... http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=oS_vYIOsb1w#t =241 I've always liked the vibe of the song- slightly overwrought vocals aside, it's their purest indulgence of their shoegazier influences. I've come to find it a bit ponderous compared to their most recent material, but that keys over guitar outro remains absolutely classic. Definitely one of the high points of their catalog. |

That's an astute observation about the shoegaze aspect, as it does stand out from their other songs as having a unique vibe to it. The outro keys coming in as the bombastic guitars are dying sounds sooooo eerie in a great way, gives me the chills. For me the quintessential version is on the Combinations live DVD, back in 2008 I was rather lukewarm on HATS until I saw that and my opinion quickly changed to "WOW!" _________________ http://www.twitter.com/drstrangeblog http://www.last.fm/user/getinline I can't find the time to write my mind the way I want it to read. |

the guitar on the ep2 version is so raw i love it. i feel the HATS ep version sounded too compressed. also i like sherri's vocals on the ep2 version more. it sounded more soothing and emotional. _________________ Oneironaut http://www.facebook.com/ChengBand |
