My answer is could easily be mistaken for the sound of a scratched, broken record, but the question is very deserving. I'll try to download the info in a different way. Eisley finishes the record in May. We fly home and sit around for awhile...a wonderful family reunion; good times..."the happy room", coffee with friends, staying up too late, barb-b-que on the deck, early summer nights, etc. Then one day soon, the phone will ring and mangagement will say: "hey, you guys have a show to play..." or, "hey, let's do another small Texas tour while we're waiting on the record to come out....a chance to play your new songs and get ready for the big tour"... or they'll say, "hey, so-in-so wants to do a tour with you, so...even though we weren't going to put you on the road yet, are you up for it?... or, "XYZ promoter called...and want you do come to LA or New York for one show...it could be big so we think it's worth it."...or, "hey...Marty has an offer to play the XYZ fest in the UK...we think it's a good idea"... or, "hey, how are you guys doing? Having fun being with family? Cool...Sit tight, let's make sure merch is ready and gear is all working and keep rehearsing" or, "Radiohead wants to take you guys out this fall...are you interested?. See how the world looks? (wishful thinking on that last one). The label is the bank, the agent gets the band gigs, management decides which ones to take and how to spend the bank's money, the band writes songs, records records and does shows... whenever management thinks they should. The world is always filled with adventure; you have to stay flexible and eager for whatever comes down the pike. Information changes every day. One phone call changes everything. One opportunity and the world changes. What we've been told: The record is finished in May, gets sent to manufacturing and comes out the conveyor belt 3 months later, meanwhile the record is being "set up" (all strategic marketing revs it's monsterous engine noises to unleash the fury it deserves - whatever that is), the record is ready to release in August, but depending on the selling cycle, timing, when other records are landing, etc. it might happen in early September, followed by a major tour within a few weeks (to give fans a chance to hear the songs and to have falllen in love with them). _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. wait.....you guys didn't expect a september release? when did everyone think it would come out? june? september is a perfect time for it to release. it gives a good time for recording that won't go too fast, mixing, packaging, marketing....maybe if it takes a little longer it would get even a little more hype...but not waiting too long so that it gets hyped out and forgotten. and don't forget that little word...."break". besides, why should we whip the backs of the Eisleys, forcing them to work their melty brains so hard? come on. we're like.....pyramid-whippers. that's not good. plus, a tour in the summer? ack! heat, people, may-ree-joo-awn-uh. it's not my place for all the above, but.......... septembre=awesomre. _________________ If the end of the world has proper noodles I'll probably be okay with it. |
