That new song, marvelous things was really great. I loved westons drum part on the verse. It just killed me and cole to watch it, cos It was so good. And of course all the new stuff is good. They all surrounded me, and I wasnt prepared. Wow, great show despite the technical difficulties. I showed up halfway through a new radiant song, that I really liked. I think it was called save us. They've really gotten good. I missed midlake cos of stupid work, but tim told me "ah.. we sucked" I didnt believe him though. everyone else told me otherwise. _________________ are you a member of the slaves to their members? |

Quote: wow, cool cool thanks for the details.. please post more sounded like fun! Did midlake play Simple? Comon A1ex.. you had to have liked Simple.. admit it not simple, they used samples. You know, like they looped drums and other sounds.. i dunno, its kinda not as cool when you just see people push a button. i thought radiant was really good. That was funny when the bosnian guy was like, hey, we have cds over there. I know i have a weird accent, its ok. Eisley was my favorite though. I love their voices. Cant wait to see them again at the buzz-oven show. |

the new song made me want to become a minor scale so i could spend my time dancing in peoples ears and souls. i personally thought the show was really good, i postively adore radiant and midlake, and eisly wasn't that bad... what is the font for understatement? or should i just be using the sarcasm violet? at any rate i, for one, am looking forward to June 28th. |

Alex, what do you mean? There are five extremely talented musicians in midlake who all play there instruments. You know, the many instruments on stage that night. Those things, those buttons, they are "pressing" are called keyboards. They are kind of like a piano, only electronic. but you have to move your fingers up and down on them to make a sound. Also, those were real drums he was playing back there, and all three of those guitars were not "samples" as you put it, but real live people playing them! So, besides the few electronic drum sounds for introductions, and maybe a few weird noises here and there, those 5 guys were really playing all the sound you heard, not some pre-programmed "sample". Hope this helps you in your journey to realize how great midlake really is. and if not, well... |

Very good show. I love the sound of the tea room. Thats the best sound ive heard eisley have yet, although i guess i havent been to all that many shows yet. i loved mysterious things. I love what stacy does with her voice on that song. the other new songs were good too. I really enjoyed the show. Look forward to seeing the buzz-oven shows, which i guess will be the next ones i get to see. |

Great show. It's a shame that I'm going to have to miss the Buzz Oven show on account of working in summer camp. Could someone hook me up with a copy of the cd? The guy handing them out ran out right as me and one of my friends got up to him. _________________

OK, first things first - the Sunday afternoon show was great. Flying Machine rocked the room, and Eisley graced us with their new songs (which were fantastic!), and a few "older" ones as well, although calls for Pretender went unanswered with a few giggles from the stage. Maybe I was putting the cart in front of the horse, but I was fully expecting both shows to be in the ballroom part of the Gypsy Tea Room. I was pleasantly surprised to find Sunday's show in the Tea Room, but even more surprised to hear that Saturday night's show was also in the Tea Room. Boy, the place must have been packed wall to wall. I have to say that the combination of going to a show on a Sunday, during the day made the whole event a bit surreal/dream like. The crowd got so quiet between songs...it was a bit weird. I think it caught the band off guard a bit too. Anywho - great performance, can't wait for the buzz-oven show, good luck on the road with the boys from across the pond. Be careful out there... oh yeah, the band got mentioned in the new Rolling Stone in the review of Coachella. Just said that the bill included everyone from the Chili Peppers to White Stripes to "underground favs such as the Rapture, Hot Hot Heat and Eisley." Boy, they're underground favs already and the EP isn't even out yet... ok, I'm done... No, it was a nice size crowd of about 50 on Sunday, I'd say. I could move around and not run into someone every step, that was nice. I'm kinda glad I didn't go last night if it was packed. Great show. Worth the time and energy spent just to get there (that includes the fact that I got a little lost trying to find the place)... not to mention all the standing I did. My left calf is sore now... I guess I was standing weird the whole evening. I enjoyed Midlake. I had only heard some samples of their songs before and thought they were just OK. But they sounded great live. Didn't care much for Radiant... but as it turns out, some of the best pictures I took were of them. Go figure. And Eisley... I like 'em more and more each time I see them. They are now officially the band I've seen live the most number of times (well, except for some of my friends who are in a band... but they don't count). Last night was the third time. I was right up front... which was pretty cool. I've never been that close at a concert where I really liked the band (I was that close to the stage when I saw Pavement... but I knew nothing about them at the time). A bit of a surreal experience. I wish I could sit and explain... but it's late and I have some work to get done before I get to bed. Perhaps later... as if anybody cares anyway. _________________ "If you're a ninja, every day is like friday." -Jamie M. |

I loved saturdays show....i had never seen midlake, but they were awesome really even if they use samples??? What? Someone has something against samples....I mean i guess it it is pretty cheap since you know BJORK , U2, COLDPLAY, and the popular RADIOHEAD use samples too.....If you gots problems with samples then i guess you wont be attracted to great cutting edge bands that will be born in the next few years.... Radiant was great....Awesome performance...and the lights were a great addition......They could have played under just a bug zapper and still rocked it.....i want more Eisley....incredible....its was loud....and beautiful....new songs were sweet....no words to describe it..and weston has good taste in belt buckles..... |

I know they had keyboards.. bah, i dont have anything against samples really.. i dunno, i just thought they were alright. I guess i made it seem like thats the reason i wasnt very fond of them. It was pretty late, so i guess i wasnt really thinking about what i was typing. i thought eisley and radiant put on a much better show. I guess thats why i didnt like them as much as everyone else. I'll probably learn to like midlake once i hear them again hehe.. Quote: Great show. It's a shame that I'm going to have to miss the Buzz Oven show on account of working in summer camp.
