I was thinking about posting this in General, but decided against it. Anyway, my question is how long until the Moss goes national and we hear their songs in heavy rotation on the radio, videos played on MTV, and they're on the cover of Seventeen? _________________ Hello my name is CHRIS and... |

These things are impossible to predict. There are many things that still must fall into place. 1. They must sign a record deal- As many labels are chasing them, their manager will have to do some heavy thinking about the best route to take. This could take up to four months or longer to actually get all the details in line. If the labels like them as much as people are saying, there could be a long war ahead. The good part is, they will most likely get what they want out of a deal. 2. They must make a record- This usually takes 1-4 months depending on how well they know the material, how many songs they already have that the label actually wants to use. Whether or not they will be writing much new material for the album. etc. If they use only songs they already have written, it should take about a month to record 3. They must get their paper-work in line for the record- This takes two weeks to a month. You must get all the publishing rights, royalties, and all that buisiness stuff sorted out. 4. They must be properly promoted- The key to success is good promotion. A few wrong moves by the label and they're screwed. Radio and MTV and the best mediums for promotion. 5. People must like them- I don't mean just a few people. I mean millions of people. For them to break into mass-success, they must be well recieved by the general public. I'll say at least nine-months before anything serious happens, but you never know. Could be shorter, could be longer. Some artists I know of have been in the works for well over a year with a label and still either do not have a record out or are not being well-recieved. Enjoy, Jeff _________________ If ignorance is bliss then whipe that smile off my face |

Again I ask...what is National? Known in any state besides Texas? so....if a band plays in Arkansas, are they National? or does it mean signed with a National label? (no, it couldn't mean that) We have friends in a band called Holland on Tooth and Nail. * Are they National? They tour the country. I guess they're National. So, maybe it's touring in the US that gives a band a "national" status. What's the question (poll) getting at. Maybe it could be rephrased. or not. I'm a work the day before the day before Christmas and I'm bored. The mexican gut fest I just engorged myself in is not helping. yawn. boyd * Josiah and Will Holland -just got off tour with with Reliant K. _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. ..what a moron I am. (Chris) I would delete my post, but then nobody would know I was a complete moron.... (hmmm...or would they?) It might be more obvious than I think. Maybe I don't need any help from myself. If I delete the post, I'll be an insecure liar...which is worse than a moron. (I think.) Since I don't know....I might just be stupid. _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead.
