(Like Combinations and If You're Wondering, also.) just because it showed up circa 2006 (is this right?) doesn't mean that is when it was written (think of Thom Yorke bringing a bass line he wrote in high school for The National Anthem on Kid A). and i write plenty of love songs and i ain't in love. p.s. paul mccartney wrote Martha from the White Album about his dog. i would have no idea had i not read his book. chords?* who is the one who knows music theory well? saellys? *(strings we brings melodies g funk where rhythm is life and life is rhythm) _________________ I am Torgo. Here are the chords for that: First verse: Alternate D-major and G-major a bunch of times. When she sings something like, "Oh, well I was standing alone," the chords are: B-flat major, C-major, and then D-major/minor (I say this because the guitar plays D-major for about a second, but then Stacy plays an F-natural that I assume is on purpose, which turns it back to D-minor). Same chord progression repeated -- B-flat major, C-major, and D-major/minor. Next is a line that is something like "you make the world go round and round"? Starting here, the chord progression is: G-major, B-major, E-minor, A-minor, B-major, E-minor, A-minor, G-major. Then to a sort of bridge where Stacy is humming. Back to the alternating D-major and G-major. Back to the B-flat major, C-major, and D-major progression. (This time, Stacy doesn't play the F-natural note, so the chord doesn't flip back to D-minor.) Back to the same chord progression for "you make the world go round and round": G-major, B-major, E-minor, A-minor, B-major, E-minor, A-minor. But it's different this time -- it ends on E-minor (not G-major). So now we're at the bridge-like passage starting at 2:30 in the YouTube video. The chords are E-minor alternating with A-minor in first inversion (that is, with the C-note as the lowest note). Those chords alternate three times, and then it goes from A-minor in first inversion to F-major (at about 2:56 in the video). Back to E-minor at 3:00 in the video. Back to the "you make the world go round and round" progression, except that it ends differently -- G-major, B-major, E-minor, A-minor, B-major, E-minor, A-minor, B-major, E-minor, A-minor, G-major (ending chord). Sorry, I know that's not very clear, but I couldn't understand most of the lyrics on the video, so I wasn't able to make it all match up. |

Does anyone here update the Eisley Tabs site? http://www.eisleytab.cjb.net/ I ask because I've provided the chords for two Eisley songs that aren't on that site (the post above, and also here). UPDATE: Never mind! I had missed the tiny link to "lp2 era," where DRMS_7888 already put the correct chords to Come Clean. _________________ Classical guitar cover of "Combinations": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkIpDhvbd2o |

(if this is all confusing i'm trying to relate the chords in relation to the capo and i don't know the proper terms). anyway, i'll mess with this sometime. thanks for your help. _________________ I am Torgo. I think it has a nice laid back feel to it. The guitar on the demo reminds me of a song I love called "Pets" by Porno For Pyros (it's really not very much like it but still, just something about it). Also I thought Stacy couldn't whistle, so who is doing the whistling? _________________ we're really not alone, we have each other |

Bigideas (can I just call you "big"?): When the chord goes to E-minor on the YouTube video, I hear that low E-string on the guitar. That's just a normal E-minor chord. And so, like the fashion designer in The Incredibles, I say, "No Capo!" _________________ Classical guitar cover of "Combinations": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkIpDhvbd2o |

D and Em7 seem to fit the verses. you can hold that D on the B string for both chords. _________________ I am Torgo. I take care of the place while the Master is away. |

I think Sherri was whistling at the Lawrence show too. Not sure... |

Hehe you hear so much in that song, I didn't notice that before. i've listened to it 8,000 times the last week or so. if you listen at 3:27 you can faintly hear Kim say, "supper's ready!"* when something grasps me like that i try to analyze it i guess, pick it apart and try to figure out why. that recording does have a 'pull' though with subtle layers being added througout even to the last chorus. *just kidding _________________ I am Torgo.
