So,a few threads ago there was something about "Stacy-talk" and the who-wrote-I-Could-Be-There-For-You thing, and the Sherri-wrote-Many-Funerals thing. So I'm just asking, who's written what?If you guys could just mention a few songs, and if you know which of the Duprees–or not Duprees...whatever–wrote it,just post it.

"One Day I Slowly Floated Away" was originally (in demos and I think a video of recording) sung by Sherri, which leads me to believe it was also written by her.

I know, but I don't think they necessarily sing lead vocal to their own songs. "A Sight to Behold" for example was sung by Sherri in the GarageBand Demo, but ended up with Stacy on lead vocals on Combinations. I think they just go with whichever voice works best for a particular song.

I almost always can tell Sherri songs from Stacy songs by the lyrics, not who sings it.

However, I did say that these were all assumptions and I might be wrong. So I will entertain your observation and say ODISFA was written by both.

Right... which is why I think it was originally written by Sherri and they decided it worked better with Stacy's voice.

I honestly can't tell the difference between their lyrics.

Thank you, O benevolent observation entertainer! Wink

Sherri said it once, on here, Twitter, facebook, at a show; I don't remember.

"Stacy's lyrics are deep, and abstract. Mine are a little more literal"

their writing styles are very distinct to me, but probably because i've heard sherri say this, or asked them about it, or whatever, multiple times.

I'm pretty sure that Stacy writes the oooohs, Sherri writes the ohs, and they split the aaahs down the middle. Smile

well, thats because chauntelle doesn't write for eisley. she was working on a song a long time ago, and Boyd mentioned it in every journal entry for months, but then nada.

But she does write for Eisley. She sings an opera on "Come Clean" which is equal or superior to the main melody. Her voice adds soul and swagger to "Go Away." She may be the most musical voice the band has.

I gave up on trying to write a song for the record because I got overwhelmed (wasn't sure if it was really Eisley enough) and I regret it, but I am going to keep trying. Maybe the next record?

uuuh... yeah, she sometimes sings for, but does not WRITE, for Eisley.

Nor did she sing on Go Away.
